Every successful politican and/or political movement is simply a reflection of various interest groups that have been integrated by one common voice. In general, voters are asked to choose one interest group coalition over another.

TRUTH OF THE DAY – Democrats on Terrorism (8/15/06)
Democrats are going for broke by attacking Bush/Republicans on terrorism. Either its going to backfire as another politically tone-deaf defeat, or its going to win them the House of Representatives in November.
TRUTH OF THE DAY – Lamont and Netroots (8/10/06)
The Lamont victory will embolden the netroots, which will lead to them overreaching. They should remember he only won by 4 points.
TRUTH OF THE DAY – Lieberman’s Loss (8/9/06)
If Lieberman hadn’t made the decision to run as an independent if he lost the Democratic nomination, he would have beat Ned Lamont.
TRUTH OF THE DAY – Clintons and Lieberman (8/8/06)
If Lieberman loses today it will hurt the standing in the Democratic party of both Bill and Hillary Clinton. Call them liberal, call them conservative, call them triangulators, just don’t call them losers…
TRUTH OF THE DAY – Red vs. Blue State Tax Distribution (8/7/06)
The blue states essentially subsidize red states in terms of federal tax dollas. The blue states should try to take this subsidy away and see how the red states feel about tax-cutting after that.
TRUTH OF THE DAY – Budget Deficit (8/4/06)
In order to significantly reduce the deficit we need to either raise taxes or eliminate earmarks (I vote for the latter).
TRUTH OF THE DAY – Social Security/Immigration (8/3/06)
Immigrants will help to save social security because it’s essentially a pyramid scheme and immigration is the only thing that significantly increases the population base enough to make it work.
TRUTH OF THE DAY – Political Corruption (8/2/06)
People who make money off of politics (lobbyists, corrupt politicians, etc.) chose the wrong profession – they destroy their ethics/credibility and don’t even make the real money.
TRUTH OF THE DAY – Labor Unions (8/1/06)
Service unions should be strengthened and municipal unions should be weakened. The service sector labor force is growing and generally has low wages and benefits. Municipal unions are stagnant and already have high wages and benefits that put a constant drain on municipal budgets.
